Infiniti Unveils EV/AV Plans, Details QX Inspiration

Nissan’s luxury Infiniti division celebrated its 30-year anniversary at NAIAS with an EV/AV concept called QX Inspiration. A physical vehicle was not shown.
Based on all-new EV/AV crossover architecture, the design has a flat interior floor with a lounge-like interior featuring mid-century modern and Japanese minimalist styling.
A large glass roof has patters that filter in light elegantly.
A high center console floats down the inside to ensure each passenger has their own unique experience, and marble top draws on the natural imperfections of nature.
Its front dashboard is wide with the LED instrument cluster blending across a large screen for optimum connectivity. The steering wheel also has screen, and is retractable for full autonomous driving.
Up front, it has a pronounced three-dimensional badge on a closed front fascia. Headlamps are intentionally concise. From the side, aerodynamic, muscular surfaces draw together in a visually strong rear end.
The company also announced that by 2021, the full Infiniti product portfolio will be electric, either by battery-electric, or as a hybrid electric variant.
